Real Goods Solar Video TV Commercial's Shooting - from a professional actor's perspective
SET LOCATION: Not so early as the normal sunrise 'call', our 'set location' was a rented Novato, CA house. Extremely comfortable for all who worked on this 'shoot', an irony was that the home next door sported a solar roof. Perhaps more so was its irate resident, upset with the unusually high number of parked vehicles.
MANAGEMENT: Like always, first came hours devoted to 'technical' work. While greeting the 'professional talent' and 'dressing the set', our leader also defused the angry neighbor's concerns. A lesson to learn - this is a perfect example of the multiple abilities needed to create high quality 'professional theatrical production'.
SHOOTING: I am herein reminded that this was the same Evolve Media 'director' as the 'artist' under whom I danced for the soon to be released "Duces" 3D 'music video'. The difference is that rather than spending 'holding' hours waiting for 'camera time', on the contrary, I was a featured actor due on 'set' for most of the day.
LEADERS: 'Producer' Oscar Bucher and 'Director' Tommy Maples worked well together, like "Dancing with the Stars" partners. Peppered with Butch Escobar (the comedian of our multicultural 'cast') keeping things light with jabs at everyone (including the boss of us all - the efficient Real Goods Solar 'rep.' Britney Frandsen) our day went fast.
CAST: John Harrison's anti 'prima donna' attitude made him a perfect 'lead'.
Rounding out the 'cast' of five was extremely manageable novice child talent: Max Desantis & Gianna Giacomotto. Notable were different approaches by their parent/managers. An area of the 'entertainment industry' loaded with potential pit falls!
