My Quickest 'Shoot' Ever!
'AUDITION': You know something is up when one gets complements at 'audition'. Walking into the room 'director' Peter Pan mentioned he liked my clothes, which I had selected based on very specific information in the 'audition announcement'. He then spoke well of my head shot (the 1st ever to make such a comment) while his assistant 'shot' the interview. It was clear he simply wanted to observe my true, non self conscience state. Why is it so hard for we 'actors' to display our own selves?
ACADEMY OF ART UNIVERSITY: My 1st audition at this School. After being interviewed, I took the time to read the walls and build boards. Very impressive programs including 'actor' training. I wonder why their ‘film makers’ do so much ‘auditioning’ of professionals? I thought schools use their own students as ‘talent’.
'DIRECTOR' VISION: It is rare for a 'director' to share his vision with a non staring 'actor', even while that ‘talent’ is working on the 'set'. For the second time ever that I can remember in an ‘audition’, this 'director' broke down the total 'music video' to me in great detail - even the sections for which I was not 'auditioning'. As this vision was very well thought out and dramatic, I instantly became extremely interested in being a part of this 'project'. Why don't 'directors' take the time to do this to all 'auditioning talent' with whom they have interest?
TWO (2) 'SHOTS' ('LONG' & 'CLOSE') - TWO (2) 'TAKES' EACH AND 'RAP':
The commute was longer than the 'shoot'. The ice in my drink at home had not melted by my return. Just be yourself. . . that's why they 'cast' you!
